International Round-Up: Haaland Scores as Norway Beat Italy

Haaland Reaches 40 Goals in Norway’s Dominant Victory

Erling Haaland netted his 40th international goal as Norway secured an impressive 3-0 win over Italy in Oslo during their World Cup qualifying campaign.

The victory propels Norway to the top of Group I as they continue their quest to reach the World Cup for the first time since 1998.

Alexander Sørloth opened the scoring in the 14th minute, followed by a goal from Antonio Nusa to double their lead. Haaland then added a third with a composed finish from a Martin Ødegaard assist, brilliantly rounding Gianluigi Donnarumma before slotting the ball into the empty net.

Oscar Bobb featured as a second-half substitute, helping Norway secure all three points against one of their toughest group opponents.

Norway have now won all three of their qualifying matches and will face Estonia away on Monday, June 9.

Belgium Held by North Macedonia

In Group J, Belgium were held to a 1-1 draw by North Macedonia after conceding a late equaliser.

Jeremy Doku and Kevin De Bruyne both started the match, with Maxim De Cuyper giving Belgium a first-half lead in their opening qualifier.

They return to Brussels for their next match against group leaders Wales on Monday.
