But Pep Guardiola‘s men fought back after the interval with two quick goals from Bernardo Silva and Haaland. The striker was then in the right place at the right time to tap into an empty net with 20 minutes to go to put City ahead.

The Norwegian capped off a ruthless display with his third goal of the afternoon after 81 minutes by racing clear, holding off the challenge of Joel Ward and then coolly slotting into the bottom corner to claim the match ball.

Only Sergio Aguero (six) has scored more goals in his first four Premier League appearances for City than Haaland (five).
