Haaland secures his 4th hat-trick of the season as Man City dominates Wolves with a 3-0 victory

Erling Haaland’s hat-trick heroics led Manchester City to a commanding 3-0 victory over Wolves at the Etihad Stadium.

The Norwegian striker scored his fourth treble of the season, taking his Premier League goal total to a staggering 25, solidifying his status as one of the most deadly strikers in the league.

The match started off with a fiery opening period, with several yellow cards handed out. City’s dominance on the field was evident as they created a host of chances, with Haaland almost scoring in the 18th minute. However, it was on the 40th minute that Haaland headed home the first goal via a pinpoint cross from Kevin De Bruyne.

In the second half, Haaland stepped up to make it 2-0 on 50 minutes from the penalty spot and completed his hat-trick with a cushioned effort on 53 minutes courtesy of Riyad Mahrez’s assist.

The match ended with City deservedly taking the victory and Haaland’s hat-trick was the cherry on top of a dominant performance.

WHAT IT MEANS

City moved to within two points of Barclays Premier League table toppers Arsenal – for now at least. With the 3-0 victory over Wolves putting them on 45 points from 20 games.

However, the Gunners have two games in hand, the first of which they’re currently taking part in against Manchester United. they’re hosting the Red Devils in the 16:30 (UK) kick-off at the Emirates Stadium.

WHAT’S NEXT

Manchester City’s final game in January – our seventh of the month – sees them face Arsenal in the FA Cup. They’ll host the Gunners for a 20:00 kick-off on Friday 27 January at the Etihad Stadium. It’s a Round Four encounter, having seen off Chelsea 4-0 on home soil in Round Three.

In terms of Premier League action, City travel to their North London neighbours, Tottenham on Sunday 5 February, kick-off 16:30 (UK).
