Savinho and Ederson Shine in Brazil’s 2-1 Victory Over Chile

Savinho and Ederson Shine in Brazil's 2-1 Victory Over Chile

City’s summer signing Savinho played a key role in Brazil’s 2-1 win over Chile, assisting their first goal, while Ederson featured for the full 90 minutes between the posts.

The 20-year-old winger, who made his senior debut in March, was instrumental in Brazil’s attacks during his eighth international appearance. Despite Chile’s early goal from Eduardo Vargas in the second minute, Ederson was rarely tested thereafter.

Brazil dominated possession, and Savinho, in particular, was sharp and influential. His persistence paid off just before half-time when he provided a perfectly lofted cross for Igor da Cruz, who headed home the equalizer. Savinho was substituted in the 68th minute, leaving the field as one of Brazil’s standout players.

Though Brazil created more opportunities in the second half, it took an 89th-minute strike from Luiz Henrique to secure the victory.
