Sky Sports News chief reporter Kaveh Solhekol has clarified that despite speculation, Jack Grealish is not currently looking to leave Manchester City.
Grealish, who signed from Aston Villa three years ago on a contract reportedly worth £300,000 per week, still has two years remaining on his deal at the Etihad.
While there are concerns about his limited playing time affecting his hopes of returning to the England national team, Grealish’s current mindset is focused on staying at City and competing for his place in the squad.
Club World Cup Context
With City preparing for the FIFA Club World Cup in the United States, questions have been raised about whether it makes sense for Grealish to travel if he’s not part of City’s long-term plans.
Solhekol explained:
“If there’s uncertainty around his future, participating in the Club World Cup might not be logical. It could be better for him to stay behind and maintain fitness.”
Future Transfer Possibility
Though there’s no active push to leave, Grealish’s camp would be open to evaluating any serious offers that may arise this summer.
“If the right opportunity comes along, Jack and his representatives will consider it,” Solhekol added. “He’s a top talent, and fans simply want to see him back on the pitch regularly.”
Currently, the situation at City doesn’t seem ideal for him, but Grealish remains committed to proving himself and contributing to the team.
Regular playing time, many argue, would benefit not only Grealish but also football in general, given his skill and creativity.
