Erling Haaland Shares Emotional Message After Scott Carson's Departure

Erling Haaland has paid an emotional tribute to his departing Manchester City teammate, Scott Carson, following the confirmation of Carson’s exit from the club.

The Norwegian striker took to Instagram to post photos with Carson, celebrating their time together at City. He captioned the post: “The kind of teammate every squad needs. All the best in the new chapter @scottpcarson33!”

Carson, who served as City’s backup goalkeeper for six years, played only two matches but was a vital presence off the pitch. At 39, he exits the club having left a strong impression on teammates like Haaland, thanks to his leadership and professionalism.

Although his last appearance was in the 2021/22 Champions League game against Sporting Lisbon, Carson remained a well-respected figure within the squad. His commitment to training and his supportive nature contributed greatly to the team’s morale, according to The Mirror.

Manchester City also acknowledged his contribution in their farewell message:

Throughout his time at City, Scott was praised by goalkeeping coach Xabi Mancisidor and fellow goalkeepers Ederson and Stefan Ortega Moreno for his dedication and positive attitude.

He was part of a squad that secured 11 major trophies over six years during one of the club’s most successful eras under Pep Guardiola.

Everyone at Manchester City would like to thank Scott for his commitment and wish him all the best for what lies ahead.”

Despite playing only 108 minutes, Carson was part of a team that won multiple titles, including:

  • 4x Premier League titles
  • FA Cup
  • Carabao Cup
  • UEFA Champions League
  • FIFA Club World Cup

Carson’s exit comes shortly after Kevin De Bruyne’s departure, with Jack Grealish also rumored to be leaving soon.
