Erling Haaland, the young Norwegian sensation for Manchester City, has done it again. He’s been named the PFA Vertu Motors Fans’ Player of the Month for December, beating out fierce competition from some of the top players in the Premier League.
But this accomplishment is more than just another accolade for Haaland. With his goals in December, he made history by becoming the first Premier League player to ever score 20 league goals before January. That’s right, before the new year even began, Haaland had already secure a place in the record books.
His dominance on the field didn’t go unnoticed by the fans, who voted him as the clear winner among a star-studded list of competitors including the likes of Arsenal duo Bukayo Saka and Martin Ødegaard, Manchester United duo Marcus Rashford and Casemiro, and Brentford’s Ivan Toney.
Haaland’s journey to the top has been nothing short of extraordinary. He began the winter period with a bang, scoring a goal against Liverpool in the Carabao Cup, before scoring twice in the Premier League in Manchester City’s 3-1 victory over Leeds United. He also found the back of the net in the 1-1 draw with Everton, solidifying his status as one of the top scorers in the league.
With 21 Premier League goals and 27 goals across all competitions so far this season, it’s clear that Haaland is only just getting started. This is his second time winning the award, having also taken home the prize in August and September.
There’s no denying it, Erling Haaland is a force to be reckoned with and his impressive performances on the field are making waves in the world of football. As he continues to dominate the competition and make history, it’s exciting to see what he will accomplish next.
Congratulations to Erling on being named PFA Vertu Motors Fans’ Player of the Month for December.
