Ilkay Gündoğan produced an exquisite performance in the final game of the previous Premier League campaign against Aston Villa which saw Manchester City emerge as the league champions.

Man City‘s fourth title success in the last five seasons was sealed with a 3-2 victory over Aston Villa in a thrilling match on the final day of the campaign, a result which saw City finish one point ahead of Liverpool.

City once again displayed their remarkable consistency in that term, with their squad regularly rotated throughout the season and every player contributing significantly to their success.

Ilkay Gündoğan, though left out of the starting XI for the Aston Villa Premier League match, his brace was the title-decider and the disappointment of being left out of the starting XI  was the catalyst for his match-winning performance.

The German midfielder wrote his name into City’s history books with an unforgettable introduction off the bench, scoring twice in five minutes as Pep Guardiola’s men fought back from two goals down to seal a 3-2 win that crowned them champions of England for the fourth time in five years.
