Manchester City Reject Hoffenheim Bid for Callum Doyle

Manchester City have turned down a £6.5 million bid from Bundesliga club Hoffenheim for academy graduate Callum Doyle.

The 21-year-old defender, who spent last season on loan at Norwich City, is expected to leave the Etihad Stadium on a permanent deal this summer. Serie A club Udinese and several English sides are also monitoring his situation.

Doyle has two years remaining on his contract with City but has never made a senior appearance. He has had four loan spells since 2021, including stints with Sunderland, Coventry, Leicester, and Norwich.

Speaking at the end of his most recent loan spell, Doyle expressed interest in a permanent transfer. “I think (a permanent move) is the next aim for me,” he said. “It’s my fourth loan now, and I’ve been all over the country.”

City have not ruled out a sale but appear to be holding out for a more favourable offer, possibly with additional terms such as a sell-on clause or buy-back option.
