Manchester City Launches ‘Christmas, Together’ Campaign to Support Charity’s 40th Anniversary

Manchester City have launched their 2026 festive campaign, ‘Christmas, Together’, with a heartwarming initiative bringing players, local schoolchildren and supporters together while raising funds for City in the Community.

The campaign places community spirit at the centre of the Club’s Christmas celebrations, highlighting the importance of connection and generosity during the festive season. It also forms part of the ongoing support for City in the Community (CITC), which is celebrating 40 years of making a difference across Greater Manchester.

This year’s initiative features a special collection of Christmas cards co-designed by Manchester City men’s and women’s players alongside local schoolchildren.

City Players and Schoolchildren Create Festive Designs

The campaign was introduced through a hero film showing City players and young participants working together to develop their own Christmas card designs.

The footage captures the creative process, playful exchanges and shared experiences between the players and children, reflecting the campaign’s central message of bringing people together.

The designs produced during the filming have since been turned into physical Christmas cards, with graduates from Manchester School of Art at Manchester Metropolitan University helping bring the ideas to life.

Supporters will be able to purchase a pack of six cards for £6, with the collection available online and at all Manchester City stores across the UK.

Importantly, all proceeds from the card sales will be donated by the Club to City in the Community, supporting its work with young people throughout Greater Manchester.

Fans can also spread festive cheer digitally by sending Christmas e-cards through Cityzens.

Supporting 40 Years of City in the Community

The campaign arrives during a significant season for City in the Community, which is marking four decades of using football to create positive opportunities for people in the local area.

The charity focuses on empowering healthier lives through football and community programmes, with young people across Greater Manchester at the heart of its work.

During the 2025/26 season, CITC reached 18,000 participants, averaging 23 hours of contact with each participant.

City in the Community CEO Michael Geary explained that togetherness was the driving idea behind this year’s Christmas initiative.

“Christmas is a time when people come together, and that sense of connection sits at the heart of this year’s campaign,” Geary said.

He added that the Club wanted to create something that connected players, young people and supporters in a fun and meaningful way while giving fans an opportunity to contribute to the charity’s anniversary celebrations.

“We’re looking forward to seeing the cards shared between City fans, friends and families around the world this Christmas,” he said.

City Encourages Fans to Get Involved

Beyond the Christmas card collection, supporters will have further opportunities to take part in City in the Community’s 40 Years campaign through fundraising and celebration activities throughout the season.

Manchester City will also match donations as part of the anniversary initiative, helping increase the impact of supporters’ contributions.

The ‘Christmas, Together’ campaign is therefore about more than festive merchandise. By bringing footballers and local children together and directing all card-sale proceeds towards CITC, the Club is using the Christmas period to recognise the people and communities that have been part of its story.

As City in the Community celebrates 40 years of work, the campaign offers supporters around the world a simple way to share the festive spirit while contributing to a cause rooted in Greater Manchester.
