Manchester City Earn £37 Million from 2025 FIFA Club World Cup

Manchester City earned £37 million from their participation in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, despite being eliminated in the first knockout round.

The tournament, hosted in the United States, featured an expanded format and significant financial incentives for all participating clubs. City’s qualification was secured after their UEFA Champions League win in 2023.

According to a report from MailSport‘s Jack Gaughan, City’s earnings were comprised of both entry prize money and bonuses from their three group-stage victories, including a commanding 5-2 win against Juventus.

Although the Premier League champions were unable to progress to the latter stages, the club is believed to view their involvement as a strategic investment, both in terms of finances and global exposure — particularly in the American market.

Pep Guardiola rotated his squad extensively throughout the tournament, giving opportunities to several younger players while also managing workloads of senior squad members.

The earnings will contribute to City’s summer budget, supporting ongoing transfer activity and potentially aiding in compliance with the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR).
