Pep Guardiola Believes Manchester City Needs To Reduce Their Squad Size Next Season.

Pep Guardiola believes Manchester City needs to reduce their squad size next season.

Pep Guardiola has once again made his feelings known: Manchester City need to cut down the size of their squad next season.

It’s not because he wants fewer options or an easier time picking his team. For Pep, it’s all about keeping his players happy and motivated.

I would love to keep all the players we have right now — they’ve been amazing. But I know some will be unhappy if they’re not playing enough. I don’t want to see my players sad or frustrated because they’re being left out when they’re fully fit.

He’s concerned about having six or seven players regularly left out of the matchday squad, which he says isn’t fair to them. “It’s not a problem for me personally, but it’s hard to see so many players missing out if there are no injuries.”

Rumors are swirling that Jack Grealish could be one of those players looking for more regular game time elsewhere, but for now, nothing is confirmed. Guardiola left things open: “The transfer window is still open for a while, so we’ll see what happens.”
