Manchester City Close to Fifth Summer Signing

Manchester City are on the verge of completing another major addition to their squad, having agreed a £12.5 million deal with Norwegian club Rosenborg for highly-rated midfielder Sverre Nypan.

The 18-year-old Norway Under-21 international is widely regarded as one of the most exciting young prospects in the country, earning comparisons to national team captain Martin Ødegaard for his vision and creativity.

City have reportedly offered Nypan a long-term contract that will run through to the summer of 2030. The deal marks a strategic investment in the future, as the club continues to blend experience with promising youth.

This move comes as part of an already busy summer transfer window for Pep Guardiola’s side. The club has already confirmed four new arrivals: midfielder Tijjani Reijnders, creative forward Rayan Cherki, left-back Rayan Ait-Nouri, and goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli.

If the deal is finalized, Nypan would become City’s fifth signing ahead of the 2025/26 season, further strengthening the squad ahead of domestic and international campaigns.
